About the Item
A one-of-a-kind mid-century "Tulu" ( meaning 'thick-piled') rug from Central Turkey with a checkered design of nested diamonds in soft, earthy colors of cream, reddish brown, light green as well as orange and blue. Made of all natural wool.
Size: 4.3 x 10 Ft.
These rare small rugs were made for daily use by the traditionally nomadic villagers of Konya, Turkey until the 1970s. Today these soft and thick piled rugs are considered collectible as well as being highly decorative. They are quirky and unique and they represent a diminishing form of textile and tribal art.
