Minimalist Graphic Anatolian Kilim Rug with Teal Blue Flame Pattern

About the Item

A stunning contemporary kilim from central Anatolia, woven in three panels using the best quality hand-spun wool and natural dyes. The design is inspired by the antique flat-weaves originating from the Mazandaran region, near the Caspian Sea, which are distinguished by highly graphic flame-like patterns in audacious colour combinations. Here the natural wool background is suddenly interrupted by a central network of teal blue flame-like elements, with the pattern arranged along the three panels which construct the kilim. The very efficient contrast between the light background and the densely coloured centre imparts a highly dramatic, graphic imprint to the composition. The rather sturdy texture of this kilim makes it an ideal candidate as a floor covering even for high-traffic areas.
