Beautiful Room Size Geometric Oriental Design Tribal Turkish Kars Vintage Rug, Origin: Turkey, Circa date: Vintage – This gorgeous Kars rug features a traditional design with elements that you often find in rugs throughout Persia, Turkey, and Caucasian regions. Kars is a city in Turkey that has a long history of rug making. It has also been occupied by many different groups throughout the ages. Each of these groups left its mark on the traditional designs of artwork in the area. Many of the rugs were produced by Kurdish tribes, and have developed into a unique style due to exposure to many of the groups that have inhabited and traveled through the area.
You will notice many designs that resemble those found on Caucasian rugs, but you will also find stylistic influences from Anatolian rugs and rugs from other areas nearby. This one uses an asymmetrical design that will give the room a more formal feel than you usually expect from rugs from this area. Many of them have a primitive, tribal feel and will add a cozy character to the space.
Browns give the room a feeling of earthiness that reflects the natural world. Today, browns continue to find their way into a range of design styles. You can pair them with traditional blues, spicy reds, deep greens, or citrusy yellows and oranges.
