The directional Turkish prayer rug beautifully displays​ alternating colored mihrabs patterned with tree of life motifs, Goz eyes, hooks, Ram's Horn, and scorpion protection symbols. It is enclosed with a rectilinear compartment style botanical border flanked with an inner and outer angular meander guard band. Steeped in Anatolian cultural significance and ambiguous symbolism, this vintage Saph prayer rug communicates the finer points of ancient Turkish mosque history.
