About the Item

:: Oversize palmette center medallion with outwardly directed vines in geometric form and serrated leaves surrounded by ram's horn stylized scrolling vines and geometric floral blossoms atop a heavily abrashed field. Abrashes appear to tell the story of weaver positions during the process of carpet making, with more densely saturated wools concentrated in the middle and sides, depending on position of weavers and hanks of yarn being used. Colors and shades include: Dusty blush, pale faded cochineal red, faded raspberry red, bronze, silver, slate blue, pale coffee brown, sand, beige, olive green, and more. Condition notes: Even wear across to knot heads with faint foundation showing through. Most of the original side cord selvages are intact or restored. Fully secured sides and ends. One or two minor areas of mending and repairs. For processing purposes, this and other rugs of the type may have painted numbers on the reverse side. Recently professionally cleaned ready for in-home use! Many years of enjoyment to come with this hand knotted Turkish Oushak rug runner made in Turkey circa 1970's vintage. Size measures 5' x 11'3".
