A vintage 2x10 Sivas kilim runner originating from Turkey circa 1950-1960. Handwoven wool, this piece from Rug & Kilim’s expansive flatweave repertoire reflects the craftsmanship of North Central Turkey through enigmatic tribal motifs that highlight beliefs, superstitions and values. These refined designs prevail in shades of blue, white and golden on a rich red background—the signature color scheme of this style. Texturally flat like kilims of this family, this piece features uncommon pile additions on the field for an added dimension to the scale, as well as an embroidery in the geometric patterns.
