Hand Knotted in wool circa 1960-1970, this 6x8 vintage rug is believed to be among the transitional designs of mid-century Turkish artist Zeki Müren. Its design bears a resemblance to Turkish Oushak rugs in a most creative play of traditional floral patterns with a modern flair.
On the Design:
Connoisseurs will admire that there’s a clear sense of modern color and playful movement that speak to a special mid-century artist—likely Müren given its sensibility and suspected date of origin.
