Displaying balanced symmetry and bold geometric shapes, this hand knotted wool vintage Turkish Oushak gallery rug embodies tribal style with rectilinear design elements from the past. Two vertical columns of medallions are patterned with an array of ancient tribal symbols, including Ram's Horn, eight-point stars, hands on hips, and rosettes beautifully displayed upon an abrashed red backdrop. It is enclosed with a tribal border flanked with inner and outer rosette guard bands and subsidiary barber pole stripes. The intricate geometric pattern astounds with its beauty and with its well-balanced symmetry.
