Contemporary Nuno Felt Grey Rug by Doris Leslie Blau

About the Item

Contemporary Nuno felt grey rug by Doris Leslie Blau Size: 7'5" × 9'9" (226 × 297 cm) Minimalistic solutions combined with relatively new techniques can give outstanding effects which is reflected in this Nuno felt grey rug. Its soft yet utterly qualitative and durable body was made in Nuno felting, which is a fabric felting method developed by Polly Stirling, a fiber artist from New South Wales, Australia, around 1992. The name is derived from the Japanese word “Nuno” meaning cloth. The technique bonds loose fibers, usually wool, into a sheer fabric such as silk gauze, creating a lightweight felt. In case of this contemporary rug, the fibers completely cover the background fabric forming a uniform structure, divided into squares by raised seams. There is no figurative pattern or borders. The simplistic design in rendered in a versatile and absolutely chic shade of mélange gray. A prime example of the exclusive and varied Doris Leslie Blau designs, this rug brings luxury and character to any space. Doris Leslie Blau offers a broad and varied pricing spectrum, accommodating collectors and designers across a range of budgets—from modest vintage finds to rare, museum-worthy masterpieces.

Monolith is characterised by beige horizontal and vertical lines of varying lengths that elegantly accentuate the earthy dark grey background.
