Size: 14'10" × 20'0" (452 × 609 cm)
Savonnerie is among the most prestigious European manufactories of knotted-pile carpets. Primarily its style broadly imitated Persian models but soon it settled into more purely French designs, full of pictorial or armorial framed medallions, densely massed flowers in bouquets or leafy rinceaux against deep blue, black or deep brown backgrounds, within multiple borders.
