17th Century Louis XV Walnut Venetian Armchairs Pair Of Hand Carving Yellow

About the Item

Pair of Louis XV Venetian armchairs in walnut, measuring 137 x 90 x 70 cm and with a seat of 48 x 70 cm, from the end of the 17th century with a pronounced carving, not in common use, of great importance. In the seventeenth century chairs and high chairs began to be made with folders with some enrichment such as the front legs and the supports for the shaped or turned armrests. The carving of wood and folders becomes more vigorous than curls or curls and crumpled leaves. This pair of high chairs, built in carved walnut wood, with a high rectangular, slightly inclined backrest, moved by provocative inflections that unfold the front crossbars and armrests of this imposing pair, not sparing even the volute uprights at the top from a slight curvature, is valuable really for the refinement of the carving which enjoyed incredible success between the end of the 17th and the beginning of the 18th century The structural and decorative features of this piece of furniture reveal the typical Venetian influence; this can be seen from the sculptural exuberance mitigated by a greater moderation, typically Lombard, in the movement of the armrests, very harmonious and delicate, in the decoration of the crossbars and in the slightly inclined shape of the backrest in order to give the seated person dignity and importance as well as comfort necessary. These two high chairs are certainly worthy of a reception hall, in fact their size and elegance express the courtly and imposing manner typical of the importance they were to give to the family, very different from those smaller and less proportionate armchairs that we find for more intimate and familiar. The paintings and works of art published here are my exclusive property and therefore are always available to be viewed, by appointment, in my exhibition sites located in Sanremo and Brescia. This item , like all our objects, is sold accompanied by a photographic certificate FIMA of authenticity and lawful origin; this document identifies the object by adding more value to the article.
