About the Item

19th century pair of painted and upholstered open arm fauteuils in the Louis XVI style. Beautiful original painted finish in a creamy white finish, with grey patina, and antique brown glaze finish. Lovely carved details along the seat bottom edges, with a Classic Louis XVI fluted leg. The arms feature a twisted fluting, with upholstered arm rests. The upholstery is brand new in a medium grey colored brushed velvet that has a ribbed texture. Finished with a double welt trim. The chairs are sturdy, and can be used for everyday seating. Measures: 23" W x 22" D x 36" H Seat height 17" Arm height 24".
