19th Century Rustic Armchair

About the Item

This is the quintessential French ladder back chair. The shape of the ladder back and arms of this chair is characteristic of furniture from the Southwest region of France. The ladder back has double scroll slats. The delicate arms of the chair are turned and come to rest on point on the top stretcher. The legs and stretchers are round. The rush seat is original. When a seat cushion is added the seat will have a comfortable height of 17".
