An antique, late 19th century carved and giltwood stylized armchair. The ornate Louis or Rococo style carving features ornate, scrolling designs. Cabriole legs, stylized floral motifs and cross hatching all play a part in the overall aesthetic. With a red upholstered seat, the gold patinated surface pairs nicely. Understood and appreciated as both an armchair as well as a stylized bench, this gorgeous chair will command attention in any interior. The high sides and back create a feeling of comfort and add an architectural and linear quality to the scrolling design. The carving on the chair is quite handsome.
