French Cherry Wood Arm Chair with Rush Seat and Upholstered Cushion, c. 1830

About the Item

Cherry wood fauteuil (open armchair) with a finely woven natural rush seat. The ram’s horn arms are supported by a plinth above the seat frame, and the front, pseudo-sabre legs. The legs are joined by a boxed stretcher, and the seat is fitted with a boxed linen cushion with hair on hide top. France, Louis Philippe period, circa 1830.
