Antique Swedish Ladderback Chair in Old Plaint and Extra Large in Scale

About the Item

Antique Swedish Ladderback Armchair in old paint with a rush seat. This Antique Swedish ladderback chair is in an unusually very size scale, almost as though it may have been made for a large person. The paint is just one of many layers on the chair which does indicate age, although I will say that the chair frame although safe to sit on, is weak and should be reglued. The seat is a little brittle.

Antique French Shearling Upholstered Armchair Completely Restored Old School
Located in Chicago, IL
Antique French Shearling Upholstered Armchair Completely Restored using Old School methods, which simply means we do not use foam rubber for padding and actually tie the coil springs by hand, However, this Antique French Armchair is so old that there is not a straight line in sight for everything is a bit askew. I would prefer to simply describe it as cattywampus. Apparently the internet defines it as "something askew, out of line, or in disarray". None of this bothers us and it comes with the territory of purchasing 200-year old French Armchairs, so we're used to it. Our French Antique Armchair was completely rebuilt from the frame up and is rock solid. The covering is genuine Sheep Shearling and we now typically stock several Antique chairs covered...
