"Listel", or bead in French, refers not to the commissioning client, as is usual, but rather to the delicate molding that outlines the backrest of this elegant chair. Model recorded in Ruhlmann’s archives under reference number 49 NR (new models’ catalogue). Bibliography: - Florence Camard, Ruhlmann, Editions du regard, Paris, 1999. Same model featured on page 257. -Emmanuel Bréon, Ruhlmann les archives, vol. 1 le mobilier, Flammarion publisher, Paris, 2004. Same model featured on page 84. -Also note that Florence Camard dated the model circa 1925 in her 1999 book, while the Ruhlmann archives records the model as created in 1931.
