Fine Restored Howard & Sons Chesterfield Brown Leather Claw & Ball Feet Armchair

About the Item

We are delighted to offer for sale this exceedingly rare original Howard & Sons, fully stamped, Victorian fully restored hand dyed brown leather club armchair with ornately carved Claw & Ball feet Never again will you see such a fine period example, the inside back leg is stamped with the serial number 3541 5476, Howard & Sons Berners Street London The chair has been fully restored to include being stripped back to the bare timber (I have pictures) then rebuilt from the ground up by a third-generation Victorian trained upholsterer. He used the finest cattle grade Italian leather which is silky soft to touch yet very thick and durable. It was upholstered plain as was the tradition and then hand dyed eight times and antiqued to give it this lovely period gentleman's club look and feel. The cushion is overstuffed feather filled and wonderfully comfortable indeed. This item is available for collection from our Pulborough warehouses. Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description pertaining to the condition. Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of creasing and wear, we recommend annual waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
