Fantastic mid-century orange fabric "Alky" armchairs, designed by Giancarlo Piretti and produced by Castelli in Italy during 1970s. These lovely Alky armchairs are fully original in excelent conditions with no flaws. The fantastic original orange fabric is incredibly vibrant. The "Alky" is well-known for being a multifunctional armchair, perfectly combining comfort, design and modularity. The alky’s design allows for individual use, but similar chairs can also be joined together. The foam is printed directly on a set of elastic bands, to ensure comfort and stability. A chair with smooth lines that is suitable for the most diverse contexts. Measures in cm: Depth - 83 Width - 67 Height - 71 Seat Height - 40 The price is per chair. Giancarlo Piretti was born in bologna in 1940. After studying fine arts at the academy in Bologna, he started working as an interior designer for Anonima Castelli, designing products both for home and office use, as well as for the Community. In 1969 he conceived plia, one of the company's all-time landmarks, an iconic example of “made in Italy” design. Over the years, he was awarded the “compasso d’oro adi” twice: for the vertebra seating system - designed together with Emilio Ambasz - and for the Piretti collection, launched in 1988.
