A spindle back armchair designed by Anna-Luelja Praun (1906-2004), Vienna, Austria, manufactured in midcentury, circa 1952. It is made of a warm toned solid wood frame with two loose leather cushions for the seat and the back. The cognac colored leather has a beautiful patina. The chair is in great condition with little wear on the cushions. About Anna-Lülja Praun: Anna-Lülja Praun was born in Sankt Petersburg, Russia, in 6/29/1906 and lived in Vienna until 9/28/2004. In 1947 she worked on the restoration of the palace Belvedere which was heavily damaged in the second world war. In 1952 she opened her own studio in Vienna. She designed houses, interiors, furniture, shops, light fixtures, and pottery (together with Gudrun Baudisch).
