About the Item

Late 20th c., a custom made pair of Italian armchairs designed in a modern take on Baroque style. The red velvet padded back and seat add a wonderful punch of happy color. The seat and back are trimmed in a silk passementerie in red and gold. The frame is beautifully crafted with pyramidal finials, scrolling arms and sabre legs. These are a conversation worthy pair of chairs with great presence. The quality of the craftsmanship in both the joinery and the upholstery is evident on sight. Sitting in the chairs confirms the impression of quality, comfort and style. Dimensions: 47"h x 26"w x 21"d, 19"h (to seat) Condition: Good, with clean upholstery and trim. The wood with a nice warm color. There is a chip loss to the base of one leg. Show well. Ready to place.
