About the Item

This handsome pair of 18th-century French Louis XVI fauteuil chairs brings a dash of historical charm with a fresh, playful twist. Their elegant oval backs and straight upholstered arms are supported by fluted, scrolled details that end in charming carved rosettes. The chairs rest on beautifully turned, tapered legs, adding a touch of timeless sophistication. But the real magic lies in the original chippy paint, with the most glorious dark red tones peeking through—just the right amount of "perfectly worn." We've given these beauties a modern update by upholstering them in a dapper Italian men’s wool suiting fabric with a tone-on-tone windowpane pattern we found in Florence. These chairs are perfect for adding a playful blend of old-world elegance and fresh flair to any space!
