I have a suite of four of these chairs which have a leather upholstered base, they are listed under my other items These are pure art furniture from every angle, they just scream huge amounts of age style and charm, the only similar example I have found is currently on exhibition with The Metropolitan Museum of Art, its detailed as the second half of the 16th century which is around 100 years early than this example The chairs have a stunning timber patina, the first chair depicts dragons to the top with what looks like a Maiden and a Knight to the arms, the second chair has Cherub angels to the top. Both of the polychrome painted leather back rests have aged wonderfully and have huge amount of charm, they display Neoclassical angels in flight The timber has been deep cleaned, hand condition waxed and hand polished, it has a good rich glow to it, there is very old signs of worm, maybe 100-200 years old, they have huge amounts of patina as you would expect, nothing which detracts from the sublime look and feel Dimensions Height:- 113cm Width:- 55cm Depth:- 49cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point, if you would like any additional or specific measurements please ask. Any questions please feel free to ask before you bid. Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
