About the Item
Pair of armchairs produced by Stouby in Denmark. Curved multi-ply beech and black leather, early 20th century edition in perfect condition. Lightweight, they are easy to move. The high backrest provides excellent back and head support.
The Stouby firm began trading in 1902 in the small Danish town of the same name, with its sole designer Marius J. Blirup. It grew rapidly and was held by the same family for 74 years before being taken over in the 1980s. Today, the Danish company has moved to new premises and is still producing, with a catalogue featuring mainly armchairs and sofas.
