About the Item
A beautiful pair of French 19th century Louis XV st. walnut and tapestry À Chasis armchairs. Each arm chair is raised by elegant cabriole legs with scrolled feet and richly carved foliate designs. The arbalest shaped frieze displays central foliate carvings, repeated along the sides. The most decorative and uniquely shaped scrolled arms display leather arm rests bordered with French nail heads. The Fine tapestry back is within a moulded border with a beautiful foliate central reserve. This pair of armchairs 'A Chasis' which signifies the ease of removing the seat and back enabling to change the upholstery for every season. Original tapestry and rich warm patina throughout.
