Pair of Mid-Century Crimson Velvet Armchairs by Gustavo Pulitzer Finali Cassina

About the Item

This pair of armchairs was designed by Italian architect Gustavo Pulitzer Finali for Cassina in 1954-1955. Pulitzer Finali, a peer of Gio Ponti, together with Nino Zoncada was one of the most reknown designers for cruise ships interiors in Italy between 1940s and 1960s. He had used this model to re-furnish the lounge room of the Homeric ocean-liner in 1955. These armchairs have been completely reupholstered, with new stuffing and new upholstery in fine crimson velvet. The wooden feet have purposefully been left with their original patina. They timeless elegance, soft shape and warm tones make them a perfect choice for any refine lounge or living space.

    Reupholstered. These armchairs have been completely reupholstered, with new stuffing and new upholstery in fine crimson velvet, and have never been used afterwards. The wooden feet have purposefully been left with their original patina. Perfectly stable.
