Pair of Safari Demountable Armchairs by Roberto Menghi for Zanotta, 1970s

About the Item

This pair of armchairs is part of the research concducted by different architect and designers on the classic colonial "Safari" armchair for the furniture maker Zanotta. These armchairs were designed by Roberto Menghi, a milanese designer and architect that had also won the Compasso d'Oro Award with his "Guscio" living unit for Zanotta in 1968. Other reknown pieces by Menghi are the Libra-Lux lamp and the collection of armchairs and sofa for Arflex. These safari chairs are completely demountable, have been newly upholstered in canvas and are signed Zanotta on the wooden frame, that also has a stunning patina. Leather have wear consistent with age and use. The white cushions are vintage and probably added by the previous owner, we will add them as reference but we suggest to replace them with any cushion at client's choice. Please note that in order to keep the shipping costs low, the armchairs will be as much demounted as possible. The shipping quotes that we offer are valid only if shipped demounted. Literature: R. Poletti, "Zanotta: design per passione", Electa, 2004 For any additional information, detail phots or videos please feel free to contact us, we are always happy to help and guide you through your choice.
