About the Item

Pair of model R-83 lounge / armchairs designed by Czechoslovakian Architect, Ladislav Rado, and produced for only one year in 1955 by Knoll and Drake (a collaboration between Hans Knoll and Drake Furniture of Austin, Texas and a short-lived production, due to Hans Knoll's untimely death). Exceedingly rare given the single year production. Seat is connected to the frame by brass screws and spacers located both under the seat and on the sides, as shown. Gray wool tweed upholstery and foam are new; the off-white lacquer is original and shows wear consistent with age / use. Measures: Height 28.5" Width 23.75" Depth 27.5" Seat height 14.75" Arm height 20.75".
