About the Item

We are delighted to offer for sale this exquisite pair of original paint, Napoleon III, French, circa 1860 brown leather armchairs A very good looking well made and decorative pair, I’ve not come across another set of original paint armchairs in this condition before, they are usually more heavily patinated and or have been over restored. The finish to the timber has been left exactly as it should be to preserve the authenticity of them, the leather is not the period hide, it would have perished decades ago, as such that has been fully restored, it has been stripped back, hand dyed six times, antiqued, sealed and waxed down, the timber has been lightly French polished The set retains all the original charm, charisma and patina, but they have been made gallery ready for the next generation to enjoy Armchair dimensions Height:- 86cm Width:- 80cm Depth:- 79cm Seat height:- 46cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point, if you would like any additional or specific measurements please ask Any questions please feel free to ask before you bid ABOUT US Royal House Antiques is a privately owned family ran business founded in Wimbledon SW19 and now based in Pulborough RH20.
