About the Item
Very fine pair of 18th century French Louis XVI armchairs, scrolled arms, over bow fronted seat, standing on fluted legs. Retaining mostly original paint and with period needlework upholstery. Presumably Aubusson fabric. Chairs need to be reupholstered, fabric sourcing and labor can be provided upon request. Additional fees will apply.
Generous proportions, these beautiful armchairs are constructed with strong beechwood and are sturdy enough to be used daily. The oval back and fine trim of beaded elements on front of the seat back are referred to "Fauteuils A La Reine" or Armchairs of the Queen.

Arm to arm 21" wide
Seat back to front 18 1/2"
Overall good antique condition, wear to the fabric due to age and use.
We recommend that these armchairs be reupholstered.
