Rare pair of Jockey armchairs and ottomans by Jorge Zalszupin, 1959

About the Item

Rare pair of armchairs and ottomans by Jorge Zalszupin, Brazil, 1960's. Zalszupin, a native Polish, first became an architect in Paris, before immigrating to Brazil in 1949 influenced by the works of Oscar Niemeyer. The armchairs and ottomans are in really good condition, the wood has a great finish. The leather is very moist and soft, but shows patina due to age and usage. One of the ottoman has a very small piece missing on one edge (see photo). Dimensions of the ottoman : 52 x 46 cm, 35cm high Dimensions of the armchair : 59 cm wide, 78 cm deep and 75 cm high.     Refinished. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. The leather is moist and soft, but shows wear due to age and usage. One of the ottoman has a small piece missing on edge.
