Set of Four Italian 19th Century Louis XV St. Armchairs

About the Item

A very attractive set of four Italian early 19th century Louis XV st. patinated off white and Mecca armchairs. Each chair is raised by ‘S’ scrolled cabriole legs with large carved Mecca acanthus leaves at the top. The scalloped shaped frieze has a central reserve flanked by acanthus leaves. The ‘C’ shaped curved pierced supportive back has a scalloped central brace with mottled Mecca border. At the top is a richly carved central shell with an acanthus leaf on each side.
