This vintage armchair is made in Caviuna hardwood and has a funky green fabric with patterns in a very midcentury style. It has curved arms and four toothpick legs. The sculpted back looks like the tail of a whale and is also upholstered giving a striking though very delicate look. Attached an image of the armchair in its original state for reference.

Available right now, this very Brazilian Modern armchair pair in hardwood and gray suede designed by Joaquim Tenreiro in the sixties is gorgeous!
The model is called “Concha” (Shell in Portuguese). The armchairs feature a hardwood structure upholstered in gray velvet and four toothpick legs. The back (the “shell”) is curved and ends in the arm rests.
What makes these armchairs so special is the beautiful design iconic from Joaquim Tenreiro (Publications attached also). The original upholstery was also suede so we decided to do something similar.

The chair has a simple, modernist form. It consists of an upholstered seat combined with a wooden backrest. The organic shape is typical of the 1960s style.
The chair is very ergonomic and comfortable, as the furniture designs of that time were largely focused on the user. Due to its small size, the furniture fits perfectly into the interiors of contemporary apartments, perfectly meeting the needs of customers.
The chair is in perfect condition after a professional renovation. We can prepare this set also in another wood and fabric color.
About the fabric:
This is special collection of velvet in a stunning color range of more than 100 different shades of both pure classic and non-obvious pastel broken colors. The colour palette has been created with extreme attention following the most recent trends. Navrátil was born in 1913 in Moravian Boršice near Zlín. From 1927 to 1930 he attended a master school for furniture in Valašské Mezirící, then until 1935 the Czech State Industrial School in Brno. In Brno he also studied history at the local Masaryk University.
In the 1950s he became a member of the State Design Studio for the Development of the Furniture Industry (Vývoj nábytkárského prumyslu) in Brno. This studio provided the Czechoslovak furniture...
