We are delighted to offer for sale this stunning Walnut framed William Morris Golden Lily upholstered Georgian Irish style Victorian Wingback armchair and stool A very large grand wingback armchair with a lovely slightly laid-back seating position, this is one of the most comfortable wingback armchairs I have ever sat in, the deep feather filled cushions is soft to sit of but densely filled so it doesn’t lose to much shape, the back is lightly sprung so offers great cushioning. The frame on both pieces is solid walnut, the timber patina on the stool is especially lovely This pair are made in the Georgian Irish style but are Victorian pieces. They have recently been fully restored to include the new upholstery, the style and design is as classic as you could hope to find anywhere This model of chair is actually a Morris piece as well, with the flat top arms, cabriolet legs that finish in a claw and ball they are a very classic set Armchair dimensions: Height 121cm Width 81.5cm Depth 96.5cm Stool dimensions: Height 50cm Width 56cm Depth 47cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point. William Morris & Co Golden Lily Fabric - Midnight/Green Compendium Prints III Fabric Collection by Morris & Co is a beautiful range of floral designs tessellated across cottons and linens to create a busy, yet sophisticated and formal look within the home. Golden Lily Fabric is a flamboyant yet intricate floral design in rich and bold shades. The collection has an overall tapestry-esque look and is ideal for creating a timelessly classic look within the home. Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
