About the Item
A finely carved antique walnut American window seat bench in the Renaissance Revival taste, circa 1870.
The bench has just been professionally re-upholstered in vintage Pendleton wool, in the Chief Joseph pattern. The bench has a carved skirt with carved roundels and a carved mask of the Greek God Pan to one side and another carved female mask to the other side. The bench is raised on four tapered spiral 'barley twist' legs with acanthus leaf caps to the top.
The bench is in excellent antique condition and is very robust and sturdy, it will easily seat two substantial individuals. This rare & unusual antique bench is ready to grace your space.
