Mirror Polished Aluminium Bench with Dark Green Leather Webbing Seating
About the Item
This listing is a special edition with a mirror polished aluminium extrusion structure, where the legs have been moved to the outside, and a seating woven from 20mm wide green leather straps.
Originally realised for the Hepworth Gallery in Wakefield and inspired by Donald Judd and Børge Mogensen, Anodised Wicker marries industrially extruded and anodised aluminium with hand-woven cane wicker, rush envelope and flax webbing seats. The clinical and precise aluminium contrasts the warm and organic material. To this day we assemble the pieces in my studio in London and apply the cane, rush or webbing seating ourselves.
The collection consists of a bench available with a reel rush envelope seating, woven glossy lapping cane seating or a Scandinavian flax webbing, a stool also available with the same seating options and a cane woven armchair.
The frame and legs can be finished in anodised grey or other anodising colours, powder coated (any colour) or mirror polished aluminium.

Tino Seubert
Tino Seubert is a product designer based in London.
When he first made his now signature wicker and aluminium stools and benches in 2018 for a show at the Hepworth Gallery in Wakefield, German-born (1986, Forchheim), London-based Tino Seubert found that they opened up a whole new design philosophy for him. They became the starting point for his future projects, which all revel in the juxtaposition of the organic and the industrial and enjoy the exploration of unconventional contexts. For Seubert, the organic is often a welcoming entry point into his work, with people from different countries drawn in by familiar traditional craft elements, only to be tantalised by the clash with sleek, precise industrial design. As a designer, he thrives off an energetic participation in the processes that go into making his pieces: whether it’s wood and stonework or metal machining, electronics or anodising aluminium by hand, Seubert is always obsessively engaged with the detail of his creations.
