Reclaimed Salvaged Hurricane Sandy Wood Bench with Hand Turned Legs and Drawer

Buyer Protection Guaranteed

About

The crotch of a sugar maple that fell during Hurricane Sandy was rescued and repurposed, as a bench. This sturdy piece features two scooped out seat grooves for comfort that reveal the internal graining of the piece. The legs and a circular drawer are hand-turned from shop cut-offs of sapele, a sustainable hard-wood. Mortise and tenon joinery provide superior strength for a piece that will last generations.

This is a rare opportunity to aid in the continuing relief effort and own a part of history. 5% of the proceeds from this piece will go to the Mayor's Fund to benefit victims of the storm. It is a chance to take something that was destroyed, invest it with a second life and by doing so give something back to those in need.

As seen in images bench measures 20" D x 5" L x 19" H.

This is a bespoke piece so custom dimensions, materials and finishes (both interior and exterior) can be accommodated. Please inquire for pricing.
