1970s Italian Seating, Handmade Rattan Safari Armchair
About the Item
Beautiful and delicate bamboo, wicker and rattan chair from circa 1970. This unique piece of furniture has been handcrafted and is made from natural bamboo and rattan. This armchair is a truly special piece. Constructed with no screws or nails, the looping and knotting of the rattan is holding the structure together.
The bamboo and rattan structure is still strong with no cracks or breaks. The delicate woven seat is still firm. This throne-like safari chair It is a real statement piece that will look unique, delicate, and timeless in any room.
The design of the chair is reminiscent of the design language found in the exploratory and natural movement of 1970 in Italy. This carefree, natural, yet luxurious time – where a passion for foreign cultures and natural exploration was at the center of the design culture – is perfectly reflected in this bamboo and rattan safari chair.
The chair is missing a small section of the wrap around Ratten cover on both of the back leg. See photos for more information
