Stand Alone German Primitive Farmers Chair Wooden Stabelle Carved Back

About the Item

This beautiful old German Stabelle is a typical farmers' chair from the turn of the century. The chair is primitivly made with no glue or nails. The construction is based on an interlocking system. The tradition behind these chairs are that during the colder months, when farmers had some time on their hands, they would build wood furniture like chairs, boxes, or kitchen utensils and carve beautiful decorations into them or paint floral designs on them. This chair shows some wear which reflects its long time of use and gives this piece its unique appearance. This chair will look beautiful as a single addition to any room, sitting next to a bed or stand alone in a corner. it will add a humble charm to any room
