About the Item

This limited edition chair is inspired by the menger sponge and bitcoin blockchain. In cell phones, the menger cube was used to amplify the signal and later negate the need for the antenna. Thus, the menger chair is meant to empower the person seated on the throne. The menger sponge is a fractal curve that has an infinite surface area and no volume. The menger sponge is made up of fractal geometries. Fractals are recursive geometries that are inherent in the architecture of natural systems. Orthofract/Blockchain: The Orthofract Blockchain collection features interlocking cubic forms, merging the form and formlessness. Derived from the Greek word orthos (“straight, erect”), these rectilinear fractal pieces are the artistic representation of records (blocks) being linked together into a chain (blockchain). Like computer chips, this collection embodies the potential of technological growth. About the Designer: John Brevard applies his background in architecture and multidisciplinary arts to create ethereal designs that are not only visually stunning but also conceptually powerful. Inspired by the principles of natural order, each creation is symbolic of the inseparable relationship of the part to the whole. After a near death experience, Brevard developed a fascination with proportions and patterns found in nature and theoretical sciences, namely sacred geometry and phenomenology. Brevard manifests this vision through an experience, which encompasses and merges design, fashion, architecture, and technology for an integrated new world.

Ode chair by Sizar Alexis Signed and Numered Edition of 12 Dimensions: Length 45 x width 55 x height 74 cm Materials: Burned pine wood The hexagon has more to it than we think, and some of the aspects of this shape are still mysterious. The series is an ode to the aesthetics that I fell in love with in a geometrical sculptural works of art and the interesting perfect form of the historical hexagon. It's fascinating how hexagons are part of our life but fail to realize this. It all comes down to the element that is present throughout our body, and that is carbon. The use of the form dates back to ancient mesopotamia...
