Iconic dining chairs designed by Norman Cherner for Plycraft in the United States in 1958. This dining chairs are early models of Cherner design with original condition. Originally designed to make mid-century modern design accessible to the masses, this incredible design features walnut-faced molded plywood seats and bentwood legs. The iconic sculptural design features elegant curves and a sleek profile perfect for the modern home. Although a pioneer in prefab housing, Norman Cherner is best known for this chair. Constructed of laminated plywood of graduating thicknesses, from 5-ply at the seat edge to 15-ply at the slender waist, the Cherner Chair (1958) possesses exceptional structural strength and dramatic sculptural beauty.
