Dog Chair Black (Dutch Design, 2023) by Paul&Albert
About the Item
It all started with a series of three conceptual chairs in which we explored how to transform chairs into dogs through manipulation. One that plays, one that offers a paw, and one that stands strong and regal. This resulted in the so-called SIT! collection. We are very proud that this collection has been acquired by the Groninger Museum.
We further developed one of these concepts and released it as a seating object under the name Dogchair. Pay attention to the beautiful details, such as the round legs and the slimness of the design. With the Dogchair, we have combined the right balance between a chair and a dog in one design.
The Dogchair Black is handcrafted from beech wood and finished with black lacquer. All chairs are numbered and signed.

Paul&Albert
Paul Mulder and Albert Buring met at the Minerva art academy in Groningen, where they both studied graphic design. After some years of cooperation there was a gradual shift from graphic to spatial work. They began to execute their concepts more and more spatially, with the graphic work slowly fading into the background. They found that they could express their ideas more strongly in spatial work, giving it more eloquence and value. They became fascinated by the world of art and design. In 2019, they made the rigorous decision to stop their graphic design work and throw themselves entirely into making art and design. The graphic signature is still sometimes recognizable in their current work.
