Four Piece Art Deco American Ypsilanti Co. Wicker Suite w Rare Colored Reeds

About the Item

This handsome four-piece wicker suite includes a large sofa, arm chair, rocking chair and foot stool and was handmade by the Ypsilanti Reed Furniture Company of Ionia, Michigan. The company was well-known and very respected from the turn of the last century through the early nineteen forties and a major manufacturer of wicker. This set employs the rare use of fancy-colored reeds done at the factory between 1910 and the 1920s, Features include a hand-painted teal and reddish colored reed arrow design woven into a dome-shaped backrest. Teal and reddish reeds outline the back, arms and skirting. Inner-spring cushions with brick red faux leather upholstery. A rare set with the original natural colored finish and the original metal factory Ypsilanti Furniture label. Sofa measures 39.5 inches tall x 74 inches wide x 34 inch deep Side chair measures 41.5 inches tall x 30 inches wide 34 inches deep Rocker measures 37 inches tall x 30 inches wide x 34 inches deep Foot Stool measures 15 inches tall x 25 inches wide x 17.5 deep
