About the Item

The iconic Domus lounge chair was originally designed for the student housing project Domus Academica in Helsinki in 1947. This beautiful early version is stamped with the first producers stamp KP (Keravan Puuteollisuus) and the seat is the early split version. A beautiful aerodynamic design that is more comfortable than one would imagine. Perfect as a reading chair and can easily be spiced with a sheepskin hide and fits perfectly in organic natural interiors and cottages. The chair had a couple of veneer splits restored professionally of course, leaving two beautiful scars on the seat telling a 70 year old story of durability.
