Named the "Jangada" chair, after the small rustic fishing boats used by fishermen along the northern coast of Brazil, this chair and ottoman set designed by the iconic Jean Gillon is the epitome of 'functional art'. Highly sought after by collectors and designers alike this Jangada chair and ottoman set feature new genuine leather upholstery, hand stitched and forged by expert craftsmen and feature new medium density foam for maximum comfort. The frames, constructed of solid Brazilian jacaranda, display variegated woodgrains unique only to jacaranda that are absolutely mesmerizing in natural light and perfectly off-set the camel-colored leather. Forged into astonishing shapes complete with fishnet seat supports (in 100% original, vintage condition) it's easy to see the inspiration source for Gillon when designing this truly extraordinary chair. Ideal for studios, museums and the home this remarkable set can blend seamlessly against a multitude of design backdrops from MCM to Minimalism to Brutalism.
