Sculptural Chair Zero by Marco Baldanello, Glass and Steel, Italy 1990's

About the Item

Unique statement piece, a high-back chair made of glass and steel. The chair was designed in 1998 by Italian architect Marco Baldanello and produced by Zeritalia The chair is very beautifully crafted and features a seat constructed from a single piece of bent tempered glass and a backrest constructed from a one piece bent stainless steel sheet with a glass detail. 'The use of glass for the seat creates a controversial suggestion, given precisely by the formal lightness of this material. Despite its ethereal appearance, the chair remains a chair, and the material used makes it solid and remarkably resistant to loads. The arched steel blade is tensioned by two steel tie rods, which support a glass back. Thanks to the elastic properties of steel, the backrest flexes if stressed, making the seat more "comfortable".' Both chairs are gently used and remain in a very good vintage condition. One of the chairs has a small, hardly noticeable superficial tear sign (as pictured in one of the detailed photos). The price is for one chair.
