About the Item

A super pair of Arts & Crafts oak open armchairs by Shapland & Petter of Barnstaple and dating to circa 1910. With three roundels to the toprail and tulip shaped splats beneath, they have wide out-curved armrests and square vase shaped tapering legs. The drop-in padded seats are covered in a cream fabric with a pale sage green leaf design. Stamped to the underside 'Rd No 449534'. Full dimensions are below whilst the size of the seats are 18in wide x 17 ½in deep x 20 3/4in high (46cm x 44.5cm x 52.5cm).
