This dining room chair was designed by Maxime Old in 1960 for the Rouen City Council. One of the designer’s most emblematic projects. The Anne Jacquemin Sablon gallery presents a contemporary edition of the council chair which is characterized by its satin sycamore base and its velvet seat. The satin finish of the base, creates a polished effect contrasting with the velvet seat. Please note that the velvet is included in the price. This armchair is a contemporary edition of the De Pont armchair designed by the famous designer Maxime Old in 1965. Originally, this armchair was created for the bank of the European Industrial and Financial Union on rue Gaillon in Paris. It is made of leather with its base in varnished brushed iron. Today, the Anne Jacquemin Sablon gallery is showcasing this iconic armchair. The De Pont Armchair is entirely crafted from leather, featuring a seat, a backrest, and X-shaped legs with cuffs made of varnished brushed iron.
