Plia Chair by Giancarlo Piretti for Anonima Castelli, 1967
About the Item
The introduction of the Plia chair at the 1967 Milan Furniture Fair marked the dawn of a new era centered around plastic. Designer Giancarlo Piretti transformed the traditional folding chair with his innovative "3-disk pivot" mechanism, which is widely regarded as a brilliant concept. The chair's combination of polypropylene and steel frame has established it as a cult favorite. These iconic chairs available in a vibrant coral/orange hue, showcasing visible scratches, signs of wear, and minor abrasions that reflect their age and usage. The metal frames have been polished with a specialized metal cleaner.
