Robin Day - HILLE Chair by L´atelier, Brazil, 1970s - very rare

About the Item

Robin Day was undoubtedly one of the most influential British furniture designers of the 20th century. He is of course best remembered for his polypropylene stacking chairs, since the introduction of the poly side chair in 1963, but Robin Day´s achievements and influence on post-war modernism go far beyond this. The "Hille Chair", as it became famous in Brazil, was launched in Brazil in 1968 by L´Atelier, Jorge Zalszupin´s company. The Hille Chair is an essential part of Brazilian design history and a sign of innovation through the use of plastic as the main material. The 10 chairs of the 1970s bear the original label of L´Atelier and are in very good condition. No restoration was done. More detailed photos are available.
